rick_dykstra Posted June 26, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yesterday I was watching the extra features that came with my DVD of Saving Private Ryan and there was a scene where Steven Spielberg and his fellow movie makers were making a reconnaissance of the war cemetery. There wasn't much background noise and between the words spoken I heard a quiet but solid sounding 'chock' from outside of the video camera's field of view. I was sure was a Leica M, at 1/125th I'd say. Sure enough, the video panned and there was a still photographer, documenting the making of the film with a couple of M6s. No 'clackety-clackety-clackety'. No flashes. Just a 'chock' every now and then. And a 'click-click' from winding on. I'll have to pay attention to the credits to find out who it was. Guest suilvenman Posted June 26, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 26, 2007 Hi Rick, I believe the photographer in question is David James who also collaborated with Spielberg on The Lost World, Jurassic Park and Schindler's List. Cheers, Ken
peter55 Posted June 27, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 27, 2007 Don't you mean "snick" from the Leica? Or is that something the newer M sound like "chock"
