I know there was a thread relating to this but the listing wasn't definitive. I have a Metz 34 CS-2 Digital and I'd love to use it but I'm now worried about the possibility of 'frying' the camera. Thanks I would imagine a Leica-specific base for your Metz flash would deliver a low enough voltage to be safe for the camera. Also, if there is a question, you can buy a Wein SafeSync from B&HPhoto or Adorama. This will give you X-center contact only (no TTL functions or communication between the flash and camera) but at least you won't fry your M8. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dear Leica (Germany): Please publish a list of approved flash units that are safe to use, without restriction, directly on the M8's accesory shoe.
