darylgo Posted July 24, 2017 Share #21 Posted July 24, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Neil, The 24mm was the first lens acquired after the 70mm. Later on I couldn't pass up a great price on the 30mm. Having both gives me the option to use smaller filters on the 30, for times when the 95mm required of the 24 is impossible or difficult, the stitching option is a workaround depending on subject and shooting technique. The 30mm on the SL with adapter is spectacular, selling such an optic is out of the question.

Using filters on the 30 is definitely easier than the 24. @Neil, I will keep the 30, although I use it less now. I do not like to crop and sometimes the 30 is perfect. I just confirmed it here in Iceland, while I used the 24 much more frequently. Jesse Sent from my Lenovo YT3-850L using Tapatalk
f22photographie Posted July 28, 2017 Share #23 Posted July 28, 2017 Hi Neil, I have recently purchased a 24mm Super-Elmar-S from a fellow Leicaphile/Forum Member, (nice chap by the name of Rolo), to supplement my 30mm Elmarit-S, as sometimes I find it is not wide enough. As you know, in 35mm terms, the f.o.v of the 24mm Super-Elmar-S is 19mm. Whilst images taken with the 30mm yield a f.o.v. of 24mm, they can easily be cropped to 28mm, making it a more versatile lens in some ways - horses for courses. I can concur what people are saying about this truly magnificent lens, but no-one who has replied to you has mentioned the wonderful colours it produces. Neil - time to purchase the 24mm to add to your arsenal ! See recent images duly attached. Welcome, dear visitor!
