I vote that Leica bring back the BIG wheel - the shutter dial from the M5! Correctly oriented and concentric with the shutter button, of course.

The overhanging knurled edge is great for just sli-d-i-n-g your shutter finger across the front for changing speeds (mirrors the M10's thumb wheel on the back). Plus, you get more real estate, for Leica to add timed settings for 15 secs, 30 secs, 60 secs.

 

One of the few things (sorry M5 fans!) I liked about the M5.

​I too don't care either way about the size of the shutter speed selector wheel, the only thing I would like changed or added, ( and yes I've blown-on about this before on the forum somewhere or other ), is that the "A" setting colour was changed from the almost invisible red marking to white......or even a white line so the setting can be more easily seen in less than clear lighting conditions. Actually even in normal lighting the red "A" is still hard to quickly determine for me.

 

And yes, I know about the indent at "A", but even when I turn it to that setting by feel I always instinctively confirm it by looking to check that it's there.

Right now all my M's have an "arrow" of yellow camera tape that marks the "A" setting......but then most of my cameras, Leica or others, seem to have camera tape on them for one reason or another, no big deal cosmetically.

 

Picking up a M10 this weekend, will be interested to see how that works out.......

I think you're talking about a black body here. The A however is deliberately constructed by Leica as a position you can and have to feel in the dark. Seeking the right color for every lowlight situation is endless, so move to feeling instead of looking. Moving from manual to A requires more power of the finger than all the other manual positions

Yes I know that ott.f, but as I said I still instinctively glance at the shutter wheel to double check that it's landed in the right place having been caught out once or twice with other M's........Again, as I said a white line would do the trick nicely, but for now my yellow tape arrows work just fine too......and yes, black bodies. I haven't had a silver one since I bought my M2's & 3's way back in time.

For a few dollars you can DIY. Lacquer paint stick.
