Lightroom processing on promotional images

I was recently in the Leica Mayfair store where they have a large print of this image hanging on the wall:

maik-scharfscheer-1000733_product_image.

It has incredible clarity and pop. I believe it was taken using a 35mm Summilux ASPH, if memory serves.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the secret soup that might have gone into post-processing?

I'm guessing entirely, and this is only visible as a small image here, but I suspect the original image showed very low exposure on the foreground figure, so it has been masked in Photoshop (not Lightroom) and brought up to its current level. Similar treatment to a lesser extent to other features which would have been underexposed. The original exposure would have been for the sky and sea - the shot looks as if it is into the sun.

It looks like brutal use of the 'Clarity' slider in Lightroom. Push it far enough to the right and it'll make a Holga image 'pop'.
