Budfox Posted June 1, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted June 1, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Testing the new firmware 3.0 functions tonight. I noticed an issue with the following new function: Â "New option for AF Tracking "RESET": Start position of the AF tracking is fixed on a specific location which can be adjusted by the joystick" Â I found that under the new RESET option, the start point alway defaults to the centre focus point, even if you initially choose an off-centre focus point. This does not seem to work as intended above. (Also noticed an occasional bug where it would not grab focus, but then an aberrant focus point in the bottom right lit up. I had to restart the camera to fix). Â On a positive note, the tracking does seem to be faster and stickier.
Advertisement Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 Hi Budfox, Take a look here AF tracking issue under FW 3.0. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Arai Posted June 2, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted June 2, 2017 Reset means you will always have focus point at the center as default, or did you mean it went to center focus point after you take one shot?
Budfox Posted June 2, 2017 Author Share #3 Â Posted June 2, 2017 The description states that the fixed position "can be adjusted by the joystick". This means that the fixed location of the focus point to which the tracking will return can be adjusted - i.e. it can reset to other locations and not just the centre. Â It must mean this or else the words "can be adjusted" have no meaning. Â It's good there is now an option to return to the centre. But the description shows that Leica meant to make it even better and allow return to other focus points as selected by the user. Â I think it is a bug.
