Mark II Posted May 25, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted May 25, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have experience with both the new 35mm Summicron ASPH (11 blade diaphragm and screw-in metal hood) and the current 35mm Summilux ASPH FLE? Â I am considering replacing my ZM 2/35 with a Summicron for the smaller size and handling (focus tab). But if the new Summicron with lens hood results in a size and finder blockage comparable to the Summilux, then it is not really clear to me what the advantage is over the faster lens beyond the cost and slight reduction in weight...? tobey bilek Posted May 26, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted May 26, 2017 Those 1960 big fat WA shades were wonderderful to see GONE. Â Now they are coming back in a super premium brand. Â The hoods I have for my 35 ASPH, 28 ASPH, 24 3.8 are wonderful . Â The only issue I see is the 24 3.8 style is more expensive to make than a potato chip can lid with a hole cut in it. Â Or how about a Rolls Royce without air-conditioning. Â I hope I never have to buy one.
