Old Nikkor lenses on Monochrom v1

I've got an old Nikkor-SC 5cm f1.4 from the first batch Nikon produced when they changed over from the D.D.Duncan f1.5.  Really love the way it renders on Tri-X and Double-X with my M3, but always wondered how it would do on the original Monochrom (v1).  Has anyone here tried any of these old (1950-ish) Nikkor lenses with their Monochrom (v1)? Also, do you use yellow, red, or green filters with the Monochrom like you do with Black & White film for adjusting contrast and the way the film sees different colors?  Or is that obsolete now with the digital CCD sensor?

Thanks for any and all input on this.

Best,

-Tim

Yes. I have two of these vintage ones, one in S mount (used with an Amedeo adapter) and another in LTM. They work flawlessly on the MM.

And yes again, filters are still very much relevant with a digital monochrome camera, although post-processing gives you some latitude for (tedious) dodging and burning. You could also experiment with plugins or presets in PS or LR to mimic your favourite emulsion and/or experiment with different looks.

I often go 'filterless', but if it's called for, yellow and orange are the most used ones.
