Advertisement Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Hi max0442, Take a look here R Mount Macro Lens on Visoflex & Bellows. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted June 22, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2007 Is there an adapter? I looked into this but was told that Leica/Leitz never made one. Perhaps there is an aftemarket adapter, but they can get rather pricy. I am not sure this route would be cheaper than just getting the 90/4 Macro, which is also a highly capable lens. max0442 Posted June 22, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted June 22, 2007 I was planning to use a Leica R to M #22228 adapter and the #16596G adapter M to bellows.
carstenw Posted June 22, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 22, 2007 Hmm, might work, although there is a gotcha: Leica FAQ - Leica R & M lens mount adapters ? I have never heard anyone compare the 100 Macro to the 90 Macro. Both are meant to be excellent. Do you have reason to believe that this will be worth the hassle, or do you just want the 100 Macro? Englander Posted June 24, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 24, 2007 Max, Unlike the 60-R, where the entire lens unit moves in the barrel in classic macro fashion, the modern 100-Apo is designed to have a fixed relationship between the rear element and the film plane which is one of the reasons that the 1:1 adapter is a dioper screwed into the front of the lens and not an extension tube placed between the camera and the rear element. Use on a bellows is likely to mean reduced performance of the lens. It will still form an image but the quality of the image is not as good as using lenses designed for bellows. Peter Bailer Posted June 26, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone have any experience using the Elmarit-R 2.8/100 APO macro lens on the visoflex lll with bellows ll? I have bought a Novoflex Adapter LEM/LER (150.- Euro) which allows to use all Leica R Lenses directly on M8, up to infinity, however you need to estimate distance and frame. But you see immediately what you get anyhow. This adapter allows you to use (any R lens) on the Visoflex III, however only in close focus which makes sense in particular for the Apo 100mm.
