rsmphoto Posted May 11, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 11, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm a pro and preparing for a shoot scheduled later this year in Paris, and with the rumored possible restrictions (laptops and large electronic equipment (i.e. cameras, etc.)) for air flight now potentially affecting US bound flights from Europe, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any place/person in Paris that might rent S equipment for a day or two (specifically S006/007, 30-90 and a 24)? Just preparing myself for a worst case scenario. What a world! Thanks, Richard
Advertisement Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Hi rsmphoto, Take a look here S kit rental in Paris?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
albertknappmd Posted May 11, 2017 Share #2 Posted May 11, 2017 I heard the rumor as well but.. still just a rumor... If it does happen, will have to ship cameras and lenses in Pelican type cases via UPS or FEDEX. Would NOT trust to air carriers as it will be stolen by the baggage handlers/TSA.... It would be very very annoying and I hope that it does not go into effect! Albert
leicapages Posted May 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted May 12, 2017 If that scenario materializes it would lead to drastic changes in pattern of leasure travel
otto.f Posted May 12, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 12, 2017 Try this one: https://maps.google.nl/maps?hl=nl-nl&client=safari&yv=2&lqi&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&gl=nl&entry=s&sa=X&ftid=0x47e66dffc72722b1:0xa52392486a54a479&gmm=CgIgAQ%3D%3D
alan.y Posted May 12, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 12, 2017 I should think there'll be more advanced scanning technologies developed to detect bombs in electronics. If this goes on we'll have to fly naked after monitored bowel movements.
djmay Posted May 12, 2017 Share #6 Posted May 12, 2017 If it comes to that, maybe we could try an S owners (or other model) sharing exchange. Jesse

leicapages Posted May 19, 2017 Share #9 Posted May 19, 2017 Not over yet, I am afraid. It would not be an unusual pattern for the US to force its hand.
