Here are 194 images on my personal photo hobby web site that I made on April 8, 2016 during the 152nd anniversary reenactment of the Civil War surrender at Appomattox, Virginia.

While I have a few years of experience shooting Civil War battle & living history reenactments with autofocus Olympus OM-D and Fuji X cameras, this time I tried my new M10 and the following Leica lenses: Elmarit-M 28mm f/2.8; Summarit-M 35mm f/2.4; Summarit-M 50mm f/2.4; Summarit-M 75mm f/2.4 & the Summarit-M 90mm f/2.4

At the time I longed for a pro quality autofocus zoom to follow the motion.  The day's shooting of action living history with a manual focus Leica rangefinder was definitely something I was not used to doing.

Needless to say, the experience was challenging with trying to photograph active motion events with a single camera body, constant lens changing, manual focus, somewhat imprecise rangefinder framing, and, 1battery.  However, I was pleasantly pleased with my results.

Believe it or not, I got 1,054 RAW images on my SD card on the 1 battery, with 15% battery life remaining at the end of the day.  This was accomplished with turning off the M10's after shot image preview, rarely checking my images, and sometimes using continuous shutter mode to capture a few canon or rifle firing sequences. Since I also use the Leica black leather half case, I used the M10 essentially my an M-D with no checking of the final image.

RAW images at ISO 100 processed with Capture One Pro 9.3  No tripod or monopod, and no flash.

Since I find the M10 to be a lot easier to overblow highlights on bright, contrasty days, compared to my previous M262, I have a -⅓ EV dialed into the M10.

Feel free to view, critique and so forth.

Nice pictures. Certainly two bodies would have been easier to cover portraits as well as distant actions. If you have to have single lens then I would guess 90mm (or 75mm) could work if you are standing at some distance.

I am also intrigued by your comment on M10 blowing highlights easily compared to M262. I would assume that M10 sensor will be better in that.

My comment about the M10 blowing highlights is a characteristic that I have read in most reviews about the M0, and, what I also experience. When I owned the M262 this was not really a problem for me.
