ho_co Posted June 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is there a cap that fits over the reversed hood 12450 for just-discontinued Tri-Elmar? Or is there one that fits over the front of the hood when mounted 'the right way' on the lens? Thanks! --HC

DaveEP Posted June 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2007 Good question.... because I am a little frustrated by the same thing - it's either the cap OR the hood, they seem to be mutually exclusive....

ho_co Posted June 21, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted June 21, 2007 Thanks. Had heard of SK Grimes, but hadn't thought of them for lens caps.
carstenw Posted June 21, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 21, 2007 I am loosely planning to order a custom cap for my 28 Cron with Leica IR filter on it, in the style of the old Leica caps, ie. similar to the example on the above webpage, as well as a deep cap for my 1st gen. 75 Lux with B+W IR filter on. I will have to measure both very carefully with calipers to get the perfect fit.
gwelland Posted June 21, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Have you considered Hood Hats? I use the mini hood hats on all my lenses with hoods and they save me from having to bother with lens caps. You can 'adjust' their diameters with black tape if you need something in-between sizes.
