robgo2 Posted April 21, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just took possession of a Leica Q, which is my first Leica camera of any kind. I am unable to find any way to format an SD card in the menu system. I have read that with other Leica digital cameras, one has format using an application on a computer. Is this the case with the Q as well? Thanks, Rob
Advertisement Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Hi robgo2, Take a look here How to format an SD card with Leica Q? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted April 21, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2017 If an SD card is not formatted, the format menu option should pop up automatically when the card is inserted. Otherwise, browse the menus. It is there. SD cards can be formatted in a computer, but for now take the option to do it in-camera.
matlep Posted April 21, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 21, 2017 Yes, but first make sure you are in PASM mode and not in any of the "dumb" scene modes. The format option will be on tse second to last page under the menu item "format". Refer to the user manual page 202 for more information.
robgo2 Posted April 21, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted April 21, 2017 Thanks to both of you. I don't know how I missed that menu item, as I went through the list several times. I expect that I'll be having more dumb questions as the days go by. Rob
