Kevin_B1 Posted June 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone using the DuraSec HighTec screen protector Leica D-LUX 3, if so is it worth the money (I know protecting the screen is worth it) £7.95 for a small peice of film! How does it effect the viewing of the screen, is it still crystal clear. Is it easy to apply. Does it do the job. Thanks for any help on this. Guest malland Posted June 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 28, 2007 ..I know protecting the screen is worth it) £7.95 for a small peice of film!...No, it's not worth it: I had one on my Ricoh GR-D that the put on for free without my requesting it. I felt the LCD imgage was clearer after I removed it. More so for the D-Lux 3, which has a brilliant LCD display that, in any case, is pretty hardy and not that easy to damage. In my considered view using these protetectors is completly anal, as bad asing UV filters to protect lenses: I remember seeing an absurd posting by someone who wanted to know how he could fit a UV filter onto a D-Lux 3 so that he could protect the lens. All this reminds me of my dear mother who bought a beuatiful sofa set for the drawing room and then covered the upholstery with flowery seat covers "to protect the upholstery": no one got to see the beautiful sofa. —Mitch/Potomac, MD
