Shootist Posted June 21, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just receive this lens yesterday and like it a lot. One problem I am having is coding of it. I marked the black lines on the mount for the 21 ASPH and because of a screw it showed up as a 28, the screw is being seen as a black line. So I used some white lacquer to fill in the screw head and then it shows up as the 21. But the sharpie marks wear off with one mount, dismount of the lens. I then figured I'd dremmel the spots where the black goes. This went find except that on one of my M8 I now get no reading for the lens and on the other it works fine. On the body that doesn't read this lens it does read all other lenses I have, all factory coded all Leica. Anybody got any tips to making it work on both bodies? Joe Mondello Posted June 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2007 Is this the new M-mount version of the lens? If it is the LTM, get the Milich adapter for it.

Using the Sharpie method will mean that the marks always rub off. I'd pull the bayonet and send it to John to be milled. Cheers, Sean
