Flash SF26 delay in firing

I am being driven mad by this flash unit. It almost ruined a wedding I was shooting because of a 15 second delay between shots. I wanted it for fill flash (bright sun) and then in the disco. Is this normal? Is there a lightweight better alternative?

That seems really odd and is not what I experienced with the SF-26. I would carefully check the flash settings in the camera. Mode-Auto. Sync-Start of exp. Comp-0. Ensure the batteries are fully charged. Weak batteries could cause a long recharge time. I once experienced a similar "malfunction" shooting a wedding with a Canon camera and flash. Really frustrating and maddening. I now practice a lot beforehand if flash is involved. I often use flash in manual mode as strictly fill after I've set up the camera in manual for the desired exposure. Good luck. Let us know what you discover. Last, I upgraded to the SF-40 and like it better than the SF-26. Not perfect either, but better. I did not like that the SF-26 uses AAA batteries. Too small.

How can use use gear for a wedding if you haven't tested it yet...?!

One tip just buy A brand AAA batteries and don't use rechargeable batteries. Lithium over alkaline preferred!
