It's a pity that Leica hasn't embedded the extremely useful O.I.S. into their upcoming Summicrons 75/90 and 35 as well into the VE 16-35. In this regard Canon's new 85L is simply exiting...

 

Some say this is a sign that an SL2 is planned to have on-sensor IS like the Sony Alpha 9. While this would be incredibly useful for all those M- and R-lenses, and I while I am sure a future SL and M will have it at some point, I wonder what we will do with our OIS on the varios then. Maybe they find a way to make it still useful by doubling the effects? :) Or we'll just turn it off and forget about the outdated compromise to put it on the lenses...
