Paul Hart Posted June 20, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 20, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I load DNG files from my M8 into Lightroom via the card reader, it refuses to display thumbnails. However, I notice that when I download directly from the M8 via the USB cable, it displays them. I usually use the reader, but find thumbnails helpful. Any idea why LR should behave like this? Advertisement Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Hi Paul Hart, Take a look here M8 + Lightroom. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dspeltz Posted June 20, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 20, 2007 It is in the user interface. Three places they show. In the row across the bottom (hit the little arrow in the bottom middle). In the main center window (you can size them from big to little) and in the left under the navigator button when in develop. There is also, in the download preferences, several options for thumbnail views. Keep trying.
DaveEP Posted June 20, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 20, 2007 I have the same problem. Canon files show, M8 files don't. In addition, it's something to do with importing multiple shots, because if I tell it to import photos (rather than a card) and select a single shot, the thumbnail shots for that shot prior to import. David: it's the thumbnails in the import dialogue box I'm on about; I have the box checked to show thumbnails, but when using the reader, there are thumbnail boxes but no image in them. Guest sirvine Posted June 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2007 Yes, I have noticed the same. Rather than selecting the card reader when you import, try browsing to the card as if it were a disk. That usually works for no apparently good reason...
stephengilbert Posted June 20, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 20, 2007 Update your OS. There's a new version of OS X (10.4.10). I just updated, and the Lightroom import thumbnails work now.
