M8 -- Just a Glorified P&S!?

Heh--unless of course you put a 21mm or 15mm lens on it, put it at f8, set the ISO to 640 and put it on "A"

This is EXACTLY what I did with the CV 15 in London so my wife could use the camera effectively. "Digital Snappy" in that case--she was quite pleased with the results! So, yes, in that case it CAN be a P&S, which isn't a bad thing! :)

Yeah I know, I certainly do it too.

My reason for starting this thread was to relate a funny incident with a woman in her 50s and her reaction to being handed a digital RF camera.

And to point out to those who haven't visited places like DPR what kinds of nonsense are bring tossed around about our lovely cameras!

:)

I've been enjoying this thread. I was perfectly happy with my D200 except that it's too big (to fit in my computer bag, to be inconspicuous, etc.), so decided to supplement it with a really good digital P&S. There doesn't seem to be such a thing, but the M8 comes closest.

(The fact that I've used Leicas since I was a teenager was totally irrelevant. Totally, do you hear me?)
