Liveview Posted March 17, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. First time to post here but I have been reading you guys long time. Due to the lack of time that I have my M 240 has been sitting on my closet for almost two months. The other day I took it for a spin to the city center and my surprise came when it didn't work. Removed the battery a few times, tried with another sad card, but still nothing. I could take shoots, but the image was not recording to the card and neither of the buttons reacted. Could not get in any menus. Let it sit for a while, and all of a sudden was working fine, so I continued to shoot until the camera went to sleep and I couldn't wake it up any more. When I shut off the camera the red back light stays on for a good amount of time, around 30 seconds. The problem seems to be quite random, sometimes works and then freezes and sometimes I can not get anything out the camera, not even to play with the menus. I have successfully updated the firmware, tried different sd cards, different batteries, clean the lens contacts....don know what to do. Any suggestion or ideas?? Thank you all. pop Posted March 18, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 18, 2017 Make sure your SD cards are freshly formatted. Use the freely available software SDFORMATTER (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/index.html) on your PC or Mac and format the card using the option that offers to overwrite everything. When in doubt, use smaller cards (16GB or even 8GB). By this time the cards you used with this camera are sure to be in need of a thorough formatting, as you have removed the battery and the card from the camera while it was attempting to write to the card.
