Guest Lotw Posted June 19, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it wrong to use the B to clean the sensor? What is the difference with the option in the firmware apart from just the fact that you have to hold the shutter release button?

pascal_meheut Posted June 19, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 19, 2007 Why taking the change of releasing the button and destroying the shutter ?
Shootist Posted June 19, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 19, 2007 Is it wrong to use the B to clean the sensor? What is the difference with the option in the firmware apart from just the fact that you have to hold the shutter release button? When using the camera in any way to take a picture, using the A mode or a time interval including B, it charges the sensor. That is why there is a Sensor Cleaning Option in the menu system. That option I believe only opens the shutter and does NOT charge the sensor. Try using it the right way. Sorry if that sound harsh but I really don't understand why some what to use a pistol as a hammer (a metaphor).
Guest Lotw Posted June 20, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 20, 2007 Thanks! (This does not sound harsh at all)
ho_co Posted June 20, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2007 Lot-- In addition to what Ed said, if the camera battery were to run down while you were holding the shutter open in B, the shutter would close. In Sensor Cleaning Mode, the only way to close the shutter is to switch the camera off with the main switch. --HC
