marban Posted March 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 5, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone used the fancy strap of the titanium version over the long run yet? Just took delivery and found it so stiff that I'm having a hard time even folding it together to put the camera in a bag. Since it's not leather except for the attachment part I wonder if this thing will ever break in.

redrider469 Posted March 5, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 5, 2017 They generally just take some time to break in. Should be fine in a year or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
fstop Posted March 5, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 5, 2017 I use the SlideLite strap from Peak Design. You can Google it and see if it meets your needs. I also use the Slide (full size) on my SL. I think these are just the best straps out there. Very subjective, obviously, but I've just never been a fan of original straps from any manufacturer, and I can't see the point of frou-frou straps from frou-frou Italian leather shops. marban Posted March 5, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted March 5, 2017 Yeah, the thing is - the titanium version comes with a woven nylon strap, nothing leather. It's gorgeous but stiff like a tire.
poli Posted March 5, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 5, 2017 I still had an artist & artisan strap (woven silk) lying around. So I swapped it. The titanium version is back in the box. Too stiff and too nylon..
Stonewall Brigade Posted March 8, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 8, 2017 Yes, I have the titanium Q and use the strap. One day I may end up on the Naked and Afraid TV show and can use it for survival.
fcracer Posted March 9, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 9, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I switched my Titanium strap to a Sailor Strap El Capitan in grey. You can see how it looks on my instagram @fcracer I also found the Titanium's strap beautiful but way too stiff. I tried everything to break it in but it remains too stiff. Stonewall Brigade Posted March 13, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 13, 2017 This past weekend I saw the new Leica camera strap are the same as the Leica Q's rope strap. My local store had them in 3 colors (bright red, green, dark red). The price is "only" $95 each.
