Strange I have been using the app for over a year and a half and have never had to reinstall when updating my iPhones firmware. Never had a problem getting it to connect either, just used the q code the first time and then it's automatic as long as the phone is not connected to another known network. If it is then I have to manually select the Q network in the settings. As I said before I find the Leica a lot quicker and easy to connect than the Fuji x series and Sony A7 series cameras

+1. Same experience for me.

...have never had to reinstall when updating my iPhones firmware.

Nor should you!

I have been referring to what the Leica service representative wrote in our e-mail exchange, and I intend to follow all instructions I receive from Leica in this matter.

It is unclear to me why you (and others) find it strange that one piece of software (Q-App for Android) fails while a different piece of software (Q-App for Iphone) works.

I would understand it if you found it strange that the Q-App for Android works on some Android systems and fails on other Android systems, but even that may not be so strange because Android systems do differ.

I have used the app and while it's a slightly quirky set-up it has worked well for me in operation. In comparison to the execrable Nikon Snapbridge it is a dream, and I'd say on a par with the Fuji app.

All of these companies are hardware businesses and when it comes to digital, amateurs - they should outsource the software development.

I recently invested in a Camranger for my Nikon system - now that is how all remote control systems should be.
