CI > JPG gets a PSD to boot ... what gives?

When processing DNG files from Capture One (C1) into JPG files for PhotoShop Elements 4 (PE4), I find C1 chugging along to render twice as many files/photos as I requested. (And taking plenty of time to do this unwanted extra work too!)

How can I instruct C1 to give me only JPG without the needless bulk of PSD files for every shot? I don't see PSD as an option for C1 output. (PSD is PhotoShop-unique, yes?)

What's happening here?

Remember when software actually did ONLY what you wanted it to do?

If possible, have C1 render a TIF file, not a JPG. Every time you store and reopen a JPG you lose data. If you do have a JPG (for example, from the camera), convert it to TIF before working on it in PS. I'd be pretty sure C1 is capable of providing a TIF file.
