Advertisement Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Hi Philjh, Take a look here ANNOUNCING FERRANIA P30® ALPHA – ISO 80 BLACK AND WHITE 35MM FILM. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
chris_livsey Posted April 16, 2017 Share #22 Posted April 16, 2017 I received my order on the 30th March, however I had contacted FILM Ferrania asking if I could have an early delivery. I had a deadline for a magazine article I have written about Ferrania and the P30 Alpha. Thank you for the samples posted, impressive indeed. Mine is on order, I look forward to trying a range of developers myself but that is impressive for a commercial lab result. Could you let us know where and when your article is available please? gsgary Posted April 16, 2017 Share #23 Posted April 16, 2017 I had my films processed at Ag-Lab, they use Fuji Negastar dev. Perhaps you could use a roll of film to do strip tests. Ag did this for me. You should get some processing info with the film. I have recently made some A3 high quality digital art prints from the P30 Alpha photos. The film has superfine grain, it's hard to see any at A3, it has high defintion. Film contrast is quite high and it has a tendency to orthcromaticity, both of which give the film a nice look. I can recommend this film to you. Above photos shot on M2, Summarit-M 50mm f2.5. All my films are developed in Rodinal an example on their website had a shot developed in Rodinal and it looked good, thank you for posting Sent from my SM-G903F using Tapatalk

The article will be in the June edition of The Leica Society magazine. It's a members only publication, I'm afraid. I contacted Dave Bias at FILM Ferrania about delivery of P30, for the the first batch he said "every single roll is being hand-checked before being boxed... As you can imagine, this is causing a bottleneck between making the film and shipping it to our warehouses." The shop should be opening again for the second batch of film in early May. I think they have been overwhelmed with the amount of interest in this film.
