How does your Leica inspire you?

I've gone through having an M8.2 and a 262 with a .95 Noctilux, a 50 1.4 Summilux, a 35 Summicron, and a 28 Elmarit (3 times) only to financially be pared down to the essentials that satisfy me for now. My current kit is a lovely Fuji X-E2 I never seemed to get rid of with an M adapter and a 28 Elmarit ASPH version 2. Every time I look at that little Elmarit I feel like it deserves more photographs, more exotic light passing through it.. just more. Even from practice snapshots to the best compositions I've ever produced, it makes me want to try. Feeling the focus nub, seeing the distance markers and aperture, realizing that any mistake is my own fault and I alone completely control my photography. This Elmarit reminds me. I love seeing a photograph unfold in front of me and knowing that my Elmarit won't fault or miss focus unless I am inadequately practiced. I love feeling confident that I can keep this beauty in good working order through the years no matter what new technology is introduced. My Elmarit is my partner and always waiting when I fall in a rut and feel un-inspired and leave it in a bag for months or if I want to wear and use it every day in (almost) any conditions. I do love photography and the pictures I create, but I am so thankful that my Elmarit is there to help me create my vision.
