Just been admirin' my # 1 camera, the D2,and started thinkin' about the day I "lucked" on it because when I saw it I figured it's 480 quid its got a big bleedin' lens on it,it must be alright, right?Later I found out what SLR stood for,but I didn't mind. And anyway, what a camera to learn on.Had to figure how to work the Aperature (rhymes with denture),work's and the affect of shutter speed using the dial like I knew what I was doin'.Took georgous pictures from day one, unlike meself.Don't shoot Raw much, only when needed, and prefer minimal compression pix,or Fat jpe3g's as I like to call 'em.Hope this don't end up in the M8 bit, they'd probably set the dog's on me all the best Liam

Cheer's for that Brian,I saw you're name crop up in the archives when I was having a read of the old post's..picked up a lot of info there.I was in East London (whitechaple) last week and am off to the Dublin Mountains end of June gonna bring the D2,but not sure about my Olympus e-330 as the mirror-slap takes a lot of getting used to..especially if you're trying to keep a low profile and just want to shoot pictures without making a fuss.

Liam, welcome to the forum and also to the Digilux 2 fan club. You have joined a very loyal community of users who are always willing to help newcomers to D2-ography.

I find the D2 wonderful for street photography, so very quiet and unobtrusive.

David
