i had leica exchange the regular framemask with the one from the mp3-version.

Jipeeeeeehh....

Longing for so long, my trusty M6 has a worthy companion now! I always wanted a chrome MP but found this mint one, only three months old at a VERY reasonable price (more than 1000 GBP less than new).

What a nice camera! My M6 feels somewhat smoother in operation, but, of course, the MP has to get used to being used...

Just bought 50 rolls of APX 400 and off we go!

she's treated me well. i, on the other hand, haven't treated her that well ...

but she works every time i ask her to!

I once knew somebody that did that to a Black Nikon F3 believing it looked like a well used pro camera

This is absolutely beautiful. Brassing adds something so alluring to the camera. The aging of a black paint leica perfectly describes the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi. Your are lucky to own this piece, and If you "earned" the wearing yourself, all the better.

As soon as I can afford it, I'm changing my M6 for an MP.

No amount of work in the war zone could have created that effect. What sad abuse of a camera

It is the 1,2 50mm Canon LTM, indeed. My poor mans Noct, bought off ebay with haze in the rear elements. Works perfect after CLA in nice camera shop in Edinburgh.

It's hardly abused. That's what a black paint camera looks like rather quickly, when it is used on a daily basis for many years. Elliott Erwitt bought his camera as a tool, not an accessory.

Also keep in mind that the quality of the paint job on original bodies was mediocre at best. They would scratch if you look at them cockeyed and the natural acid occurring in sweat would eat at it.

The current paint is a lot tougher. It may be automotive in origin.

A working photographer will even wear through the very tough anodized finishes and even the nickel, down to the brass. Winogrand certainly managed to do that, but then again he also made about 500,000 exposures.

I've had my M6ttl for 11 years now and have managed to wear it down to the nickel in certain places.
