RITskellar Posted August 24, 2008 Share #641 Posted August 24, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) So, I've been waiting a couple months, and my brand new a la carte MP and black paint Summilux 50 (pre-asph) have finally just arrived. The unfortunate thing is, only a few days ago, I broke my hand during a fall. My shooting hand, of course, is now in a cast with two long pins through the bones. Now I'll have to wait another month or so to load it with film and try. In the mean time, I'll keep it boxed up, and do my best to afford to be able to keep it. Bummer. peter_n Posted August 24, 2008 Share #642 Posted August 24, 2008 Sorry to hear about the injury but the MP certainly looks good! Is the extent of the "a la cart-ness" the top engraving and the vulcanit?
RITskellar Posted August 24, 2008 Share #643 Posted August 24, 2008 Sorry to hear about the injury but the MP certainly looks good! Is the extent of the "a la cart-ness" the top engraving and the vulcanit? Thanks. And yea, basically. Full classic engraving, vulkanit covering, black retaining ring, and standard .72 vf and frame lines. Cheers, Andy
wbesz Posted August 25, 2008 Share #644 Posted August 25, 2008 Not a nice break and it must be frustrating with a new camera, however, the x-ray shot is great.
camouflage808 Posted August 26, 2008 Share #645 Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks AB I have now had the MP for four weeks and one day. I am part way through my 11th roll of film. My love for the MP continues to grow I have even started developing my own film at home. Very satisfying. Also happy that the thread has been revived. David ... I was laughing out loud when I saw the picture of your equipment, because I nearly use the same stuff on the road!!! So I took a photo of my bag and it's tools... (Instead of the model "Evans Walker" I#m using The "Image Smith"). greetings from vienna! Camouflage808 Welcome, dear visitor! antistatic Posted August 26, 2008 Share #646 Posted August 26, 2008 Great kit Tim:) Love the MP and M7 I like the subtle looks of the A&A bags. I took mine to work yesterday and someone asked me if I had my lunch in there. David

marke Posted August 29, 2008 Share #648 Posted August 29, 2008 Our favorite camera (and thread) have now begun a life of their own on Wikipedia: Leica MP Thanks AB Cool..., and stealthy. I have an MP, a M6TTL, and a IIIf RD. If I had to just keep one, there's no question it would be the MP.
RITskellar Posted September 7, 2008 Share #649 Posted September 7, 2008 9 days and no new MP pics?! Here's a bump and my trio of black MPs. After just putting my silver MP a-la-carte up for sale to help balance the check book and priorities, this is the entirety of my kit (along with the IIIb my dad gave me many years ago). antistatic Posted September 7, 2008 Share #653 Posted September 7, 2008 Mines called TriXie Ha Ha I guess (T) Max would be another choice. Nicer than Effpee or Aichpee. David
MPerson Posted September 8, 2008 Share #654 Posted September 8, 2008 I seem to have two regular bags. The 'Walker Evans' is now relegated to dry(ish) weather - cannot get it waterproofed 100%. For English summers ( ) I use the Snowbee, totally waterproof. Both bags allow me to carry the MP & D2 together - if necessary. Welcome, dear visitor! PATB Posted September 9, 2008 Share #659 Posted September 9, 2008 Yes, black chrome. And the one in front is black paint. Cheers, Andy I test drove the M8 over three days and I like its black chrome better compared to my MP's black paint. A black chrome MP is just the ticket.
