My M-P and 50mm Summilux were stolen in Oakland CA last night. If anyone happens to see them for sale anywhere could you contact me or the Oakland PD +1 (510) 777-3333

They are fully insured and so I'm not crying in my beer but it sure would be nice if these people got caught.

Leica M-P SN#4955370 It has a bit of brassing but not extreme mostly around the top edge and on the baseplate. The baseplate has one big area of brassing about half the size of your pinky nail on the back right side. It also has a Leica Artisan & Artist Silk green neck strap. This is an unusual flat woven one. Not one of the round ones.

Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH SN#4306886

Anyway, if people could keep your eyes out that would be great!

I told my local Leica store and other nearby stores to be on the lookout.  Currently these serial numbers are registered to me in their member's portal. Does anyone know if Leica maintain a registry of stolen equipment so that if it comes in for service or someone tries to reregister it, they can notify someone?

@bencoyote - That sucks - sorry to hear of your misfortune.  Was this a case of sneak thievery or was it a strong-arm robbery?

'Tis the season for giving - or so I thought.  Apparently 'tis the season for stealing:  http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/267453-camera-and-lens-stolen/ :(:(

Just about the time I have a little optimism - that maybe there is hope for the human species after all - a story such as this pops up to give me a dose of reality.
