As I've now sold my SL, I have a redundant Canon FD to SL adapter made by an excellent Polish engineering company (see http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/262925-canon-fd-to-sl-adapter-from-poland/).

If you'd like it and would promise to make a contribution to a homeless charity such as the BBC / St Martin in the Fields appeal (https://www.smitfc.org/one-off-donation/) or one in your own country, I'll be very happy to send it to you (if you're in the UK I'll cover the postage - it's a good cause!!)

PM me if you're interested.

Happy Christmas!

Chris - is the offer still valid or has the adapter been given away?

Nice gesture, I will gladly contribute further to my usual charities.

And why have you sold th SL??

See comments at http://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/267124-whenever-the-new-m-arrives-whos-going-to-buy-one/?p=3161756

I liked some aspects of the SL, but as I didn't want to (couldn't afford to!) buy into the SL lenses, it didn't work for me.  Also see:

Hope this helps  :)

....... ah ...... the pitfalls of buying a camera and expecting to use it in a manner it was not directly designed for.......

anyone expecting it to be an M replacement or substitute may be in for a rather rocky road ......

...... as a mirrorless high quality AF system built like a tank with the secondary option of using manual lenses ...... well that's a different story altogether.

At least you gave it a try before passing comments .... good and bad  .... which is more than most on the forum do .....

Just to say that the converter has a home.

Re the SL itself, thighslapper's points are taken. However, in my own defence I would say that I bought the SL to complement my M system, not as substitute or replacement. It didn't do the job for me. And I would contend that the SL WAS designed to be used with M lenses along side it's native glass. In my experience it has limitations in this application.

Happy Christmas!

Best

In my experience any camera has limitations (any camera I have tried until now).

For me the SL has the limitations I can best live with.

I actually use R and M glass most of the time. Had no SL lenses for many months.

I hope you found a system that can give you what you need. Merry Christmas! (maybe a bit early ?)
