helged Posted December 5, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted December 5, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Possibly of interest for some SL-shooters out there: Â No question that the Zeiss Otus 28 mm is a technically great lens. Unfortunately but related, obviously, the same holds for the lens' size and weight; it is LARGE and rather heavy. Strangely, a tripod collar is not available for the lens, and Zeiss has no plans for making one either (explicitly stated on Zeiss' homepage). Â The good news is that the Novoflex adapter LET/NIK can be fitted with the tripod collar ASTAT-NEX. The collar is not among the most user-frendly out there, certainly not with stiff, freezing fingers... but it works. Â The mentioned collar is also convenient for those playing with the very good Zeiss APO Sonnar 135 f2. Â In both cases, the lenses are in Nikon-mount. The above obviously holds for Nikon biggies without tripod collar as well, e.g., the much-liked Nikon 14-24.

steppenw0lf Posted December 5, 2016 Share #2  Posted December 5, 2016 Novoflex has collars for all its adapters. And even for the SL lenses (zooms) - the ASTAT-SL.  The Zeiss lens you mentioned is not available anymore - it is now the Milvus 2/135. Most lenses of the classic line have already been replaced by Milvus. The Milvus 2/100 is the famous Macro Planar.
