Advertisement Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Nikon 55mm Otus on a SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mmradman Posted December 4, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2016 You are very entertaining chap Neil, I am avid follower of your amusing posts, but do you ever try to figure how things work (are u similarly ignorant in your work place), with respect to fitting Otus to SL short answer is yes. Reason is SL has much shorter registry distance than Nikon, registry is distance between mount flange plane and film or sensor plane. Cameras with shorter registry allow insertion of adaptors (extension tubes) between non-native lens and body. Leica SL601 being mirrorless has very short R distance some 18-20mm (roughly 3/4 inch) while Nikon system has registry of 46.5mm.

mmradman Posted December 4, 2016 Share #6 Posted December 4, 2016 For a single adapter I would suggest Novoflex Nikon to Leica SL, for stockist in U.K. Google www.speedgraphic.co.uk Alternative would be to stack Nikon F to Leica M and Leica M to SL. F to M adapter you can get from Novoflex while best M to SL is Leica own as it allows some level of automation with lens coding - it reads 6 bit coding so comes handy with M lenses like Noctilux. jip Posted December 4, 2016 Share #9 Posted December 4, 2016 Neil, the Leica SL has a very short flange distance so in theory you can mount ALL lenses made for cameras with a deeper/larger flange distance than the Leica SL, if a appropriate adapter is available, or sometimes you can work by stacking two adapters. E.G.: Nikon F to Leica M mount + Leica M to Leica L mount etc. You could even mount Contax 645 lenses on a SL by for example: Leica S-Adapter C + Leica SL-Adapter S. Not sure if the lenses autofocus would work like they would on your Leica S though. Or maybe Hasselblad H lenses with Leica S-Adapter H + Leica SL-Adapter S. Again not sure about the autofocus, but in theory it should.

John McMaster Posted December 4, 2016 Share #17 Posted December 4, 2016 Nikon do not make a 55mm otus, perhaps 'Zeiss 55mm otus Leica SL' or my original link would be better, SL is the start of many words and without Leica in the search string.... john
John McMaster Posted December 4, 2016 Share #18 Posted December 4, 2016 Or I should have said just Nikon lens adapter as the Zeiss (in Nikon fit) is just that.... john
