Well, it's about bokeh of Leica S lenses, so why post pics of Contax lenses? Because it's relevant for comparison, right? The OP mentioned comparison to the Noctilux, so I thought a slightly wider discussion of the role of bokeh was not inappropriate. I apologize for stepping over the line.

Naughty list for you ;)

I don't have a SL, but I would agree with this. I very much like the EF 85 f/1.2L MkII on my Canons (particularly for portraits), but the focus-by-wire makes it totally impractical on my M's. The shots I did were just to see if I could.

Perhaps consider the mechanical FD 85/1.2 L.

I think we're talking about bokeh photos taken with the Leica S bodies... so another lens on that system still fits in this thread... but canon lenses on a Leica SL is something totally different?

It all depends ...

You think, he thinks, they think, we think. In the end, no one but Andreas owns this thread.

Last time I looked at the title of this threadir read: Battle of the Bokeh with S Lenses

I say live and let live, and give fellow participants a chance tto show what hey think is relevant.

The Leica S system has resurrected into an amazing system that in reality isn't going to be beaten. Yes it's had lens and body issues....... who hasn't. At the end of the day it's the pictures that we print or show off that matters.

If anyone is on the fence will I won't I just do it .......you won't be disappointed

Bokeh of the S-120mm is extraordinary. I gave up on the S system, but if anything it would be the 120mm that would entice me back.

...and the 24, did you try it? One of my favorites, "drama queen" for landscape and architecture.

The first time I viewed an image taken with the 24 mounted to an S007 it was love at first sight.

Is that a hitch-glider or an instructor riding without a harness?

Theres no instruction, you pay the money and you get dragged up into the air for a 10 minute rush...............the guy on the back has now harness and just along for the ride :)

Another shot showing off the bokeh of the 24! Ultra-wide's are not known for their beautiful OOF rendering, but this lens is amazing.

That bokeh is really impressive for such a lens, and has a very attractive quality too.
