Advertisement Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Hi leica1215, Take a look here any commercial user dedicate using SL here?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
douglas fry Posted December 1, 2016 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2016 Yes, holding hand up, I do! In fact Im on a corporate shoot right now in London, waiting for the next director to arrive, I'm using SL + Nocti, with Elinchrom Quadra Ranger and Octa soft box, to blend ambient and flash, hopefully subtly ;-) I shoot just about every day, two shoots today in fact, the next will be shot on the M240 + 35mm Summilux outside with a broader aspect for website banners
leica1215 Posted December 1, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted December 1, 2016 Not using the zoom for Af at all ? Do you find focus peaking is better than m240 per se? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
douglas fry Posted December 1, 2016 Share #4 Posted December 1, 2016 No focus peaking on the SL is way better, focus peaking on m240 only happens in live view which severely cripples your shooting flow in my view, it's too slow. Shooting with a nocti on the SL is a cinch, on the m240 it's very good too but you have to be very confident in your rangefinder focussing at 0,95 anyway
douglas fry Posted December 1, 2016 Share #5 Posted December 1, 2016 Sorry didn't answer your question fully. No zooms here, I wanted one set of lenses for both cameras

douglas fry Posted December 1, 2016 Share #7 Posted December 1, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) The shoot in the morning needed flash, and it's easier (with a flash trigger on top) to focus precisely with the SL , the afternoon was outside and it's much easier with high contrast winter sun to focus with a rangefinder, the SL can just make the subject a silhouette and v tricky to focus. In low light the SL with its fancy viewfinder can make focussing simple The cameras as a pair work very well for me.
Peter H Posted December 1, 2016 Share #8 Posted December 1, 2016 Thanks Douglas. That makes perfect sense now that you've explained it so clearly. If you don't mind my asking, which flash do you use, and which mode, (M,A or TTL?).
