B&H no longer shipping chemistry.

I ordered some Monday and it shipped Tuesday, but on Tuesday you could no longer have chemicals shipped.

I just ordered a quart of PermaWash from B&H, and the order went through fine (shipping rate even had an option for ground shipping). For some reason, a gallon of the stuff is marked as "Store pickup only." Weird - the stuff is basically highly refined seawater.

I doubt contacting B&H will get an adequate answer, they have made a decision not to ship chemicals, we'll never know what the real reason was. I'm not going to worry about it and simply take my business elsewhere.

There's not much else a person can do other than that.

JMHO but it is nonsense to not give customers a straight answer as to why this decision was made and even worse to inconvenience customers nationwide by refusing to ship chemistry by UPS or FedEx truck.

Are we supposed to be gullible enough to believe that there is no way to ship chemistry by truck and that Kodak, Tetenal, Adox, etc. deliver their shipments of chemistry to B&H by horse and wagon??

The posts on this subject over at Rangefinderforum.com and Photo.net are getting quite amusing.

Man-o-man, peeps be flip'n like 2AM flapjacks at Denny's, WTH?

They even added Xtol back on so I don't understand why folks have to be so nasty.

It arrived yesterday. And for my sins, Goggle's AdSense, or whatever they call that annoying tracking software, is now throwing up B&H ads for (wait for it...) photo chemistry (powder and liquid) on nearly every Web page I visit today.

For Canadians, it makes more sense to order from argentix.ca especially as Jacques is open to getting hold of whatever you need. I waited nearly a year for my first ever C-41 kit from B&H (it took so long as it was the liquid kit from Tetenal) and by the time it finally turned up I had become proficient with the dry powder kits much more easily available from Freestyle and Argentix.

Another mystery is why Diafine (two cans of powder, neither of which contains anything unusual) is so hard to get shipped.
