Maybe / maybe not - depends on what your are doing.  I'd say it is very easy to use 75% or more of Lightroom features whereas Photoshop is a bottomless pit of features that cannot be fathomed - still handy though for the heavy lifting!  We shoot average 300 frames a day and process / manage all through LR, along with PS, Photomatix and NIK.  At $9.95, it pays for itself in a day.  For casual shooting - well if you shoot RAW, and you should be, even though the DNGs straight from the Q are not bad, you likely need some way to process the images.  Lots of choices these days.

Nice to get the 90 day credit from the Q.

With no intension to provoke, do we need Adobe, I don't and I would suspect that there are very few who even use 25% of what they have too offer. All these components and more are available elsewhere as I am finding out as I am now looking at alternatives right now.

There is the argument that if you can afford a Leica camera then the cost of Adobe is insignificant to the cost of your hardware, looking after the pennies is how I can afford Leica in the first place.

Each man too his own though so go with what you are happy with and if your not happy look elsewhere like me.

Paul.
