Robert M Poole Posted October 22, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 22, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good evening, I got my M9 used last year. It had the sensor replaced (not with the latest sensor though) before I bought it. I've only just noticed that at high ISO in a couple of my shots that there is a line across them. It is only noticable when I zoom in but I was just wandering if this was a common problem and if there is a solution. Attached is a 1:1 crop. ISO1600, F8 Welcome, dear visitor! Frase Posted October 22, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2016 looks like it, not the end of the world leica will remap the sensor if its a new sensor may still be under warranty and they may even swap it for the latest sensor.

Thanks, it's barely noticeable to be honest so I guess I've got to decide if I want to send it off and wait X months to get it back. I'll maybe pop in Leica Store Manchester next week and speak to them.
pico Posted October 22, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 22, 2016 If it is a sensor problem, the line will always be in the same position, so if you use Photoshop (it is all I know), you can make an action that heals the row (or column) to fix it immediately, even in batch with no intervention. Me, I would leave it be and enjoy the camera. In fact, that is exactly how I am coping now.

If it won't get any worse I might just leave it. The sensor was replaced in May 2015, does anyone know the warranty Leica might offer on a replacement sensor? Robert M Poole Posted October 26, 2016 Author Share #6 Posted October 26, 2016 Good news, Leica Store Manchester said that when I can't put up with it anymore they'll send it off to Germany for a replacement sensor as they are guaranteed forever. They could remap it but more likely they'll just replace it with the new sensor. Think I'll leave it a while partly as there is an 8-10 week wait (which is actually better than i thought it would be) and partly I'll wait till it's getting close to needing a service. Once again great service from the team. www.robertpoolephotography.com
