lpeeples Posted October 18, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Question for SL users. I wanted to compare the 240 vs the SL image (Nothing scientific, just for my own satisfaction). I mounted my 75APO first to the SL and then the 240. I never moved the tripod. The two images are below. Note the SL looks a little closer in (thats the way they exported). In Lightroom, the ship is the same size, except the 240 shows more on the sides than the SL shot. It's hard to explain but if I use the crop and straighten tool, I can see the sides of the SL shot that are outside the crop box. I bought it used, and just noticed the aspect ratio is 4:3. I'm thinking it should be 3:2 so maybe I just answered my own question... http://www.pointephotography.net/Proofs/240vsSL/
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Hi lpeeples, Take a look here SL vs 240. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted October 18, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2016 As FF sensors, the correct aspect ratio is 3:2 I assume that in LR both images use the same lens profile? I'm not sure what your question is, other than your last sentence!
lpeeples Posted October 18, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted October 18, 2016 Yes, I just realized that the previous owner had the SL had the aspect ratio set to 4:3. That is why I was seeing a "cropped version" in LR. Mystery is solved.
