Can someone please turn it off as I'm pretty sure that errors have increased rather than decreased as a result of it?

The forum has no control over the spell checking and the auto correction done to the posts.

Guest Posted October 15, 2016 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2016 ... Safari - can't see any way to disable, but if anyone knows of one please do post! Safari browser on a Mac? "Disable auto correct in Safari? ...go into System Preferences and click on the link for spelling. There will be a check box to disable system wide spell checking. Uncheck that, and you should be rid of that problem." https://discussions.apple.com/message/15743461#15743461 Or to disable the auto-correction in Apple Lion Safari, from Edit > Spelling and Grammer > Check Spelling Automatically.
