TheGodParticle/Hari Posted October 7, 2016 Share #1 Â Posted October 7, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 12592 - A58 fits the 21/2.8ASPH, 24/2.8ASPH and the 28-35-50/f4. Â So, my new to me Chrom 24/2.8 ASPH. gets delivered and I'm out taking pictures with the SL. Â All good - the lens is truly awesome and it's so easy to compose with the SL's mega luxurious EVF, I hate the external VF's for the M. Â I noticed a quirk when I mounted the lens on my M - the cut out on the hood is at the exact opposite side of the RF viewfinder :/ Â Like some hoods, is this a 2 piece hood which I can unscrew and try to screw into the correct position or will I just break the hood and end up shelling out 100 bucks for a replacement? Â To illustrate: Â Attached some images of my lens hood here -> Â Â Â Â Some web pictures of what a "normal" hood looks like -> Â Â Â Â Edit: forgot to mention that I can mount the hood the opposite way so the cutout is on the top-left as it should be but the white dot is now at the bottom side. This messes with the order of the universe so my brain cannot accept this solution beyond a temporary inconvenience.

michaelwj Posted October 7, 2016 Share #2 Â Posted October 7, 2016 Maybe it is meant to match one where Leica also installed the aperture assembly upside down? Â Surely Leica should be able to fix this so the stars can again be in alignment. Â (I remember there was a 74 summilux (?) that had that issue) Â As an aside, does anyone else with they made a silver hood option for the silver lenses? Yeah maybe we should call these the Friday evening/day before vacation items. Â I'll take it to Wetzlar tomorrow and see if they can get me a spare. I'll keep this quirky hood in the closet as a collectors item. Â The 35FLE Chrom version comes with a Chrom hood as standard delivery. Â So do the new 2.4 summarits.
