ricomortus Posted October 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dear all, I was wondering what your experience with the 21mm bright view finder is. I recently purchased one, it seems a little loose in the hot shoe? It's obviously not loose enough to fall out of place, but is it suppose to be a super tight fit? or it should slide in with a hint of wiggle room from side to side. I have the black metal version from Leica. was just curious and also, worried if i get bumped by someone it might fall out! Note*: I use a THumbs up usually, don't know if that has any effect on my hot shoe. Rico
Advertisement Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Hi ricomortus, Take a look here 21mm bright view finder on M-P240?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lawman Posted October 6, 2016 Share #2 Posted October 6, 2016 Carefully spread the foot of the viewfinder by inserting a knife or thin screwdriver into the slot and twisting enough to spread the foot which will make for a tighter fit. I love this finder and mine now stays tight in the shoe.

lawman Posted October 6, 2016 Share #4 Posted October 6, 2016 Yes mine was loose - I think they're made this way so they'll fit any Leica by spreading the shoe. By the way, I stopped using the thumbs up and use a thumbie to keep the hotshoe free.

Is there any specific screwdriver I need to adjust it? Worried cause it's an expensive piece of equipment!

Don't know about Zeiss VF, I observed that recent metal Voightlander viewfinders dont have the slot on the foot to enable adjustment, earlier poly-carbonate one comes with the adjustment slot. Just go slowly and open up the slot space in very small increments whilst trying in the camera shoe often. The steel is quite soft and very little force needed. Had one on M9, stayed put for years until sold
