gbealnz Posted October 25, 2016 Share #41 Â Posted October 25, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I tried to get something out of Jono on another forum but no luck...: http://www.getdpi.com/forum/leica/55718-wheres-jono-2.html#post708495 Not surprised, Jono is a seasoned campaigner. It will become news, if and when the powers that be are ready. Gary
Advertisement Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Hi gbealnz, Take a look here New TL Camera (almost) confirmed by Leica - get your purses ready ;-). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robert blu Posted October 26, 2016 Share #42 Â Posted October 26, 2016 I read this as indeed I read car forums and cycling forums etc. Â Progress is progress, up until 1 hour before indications abound about a new T camera everyone was happy with their T, the fact the moment a company says there will be a new one out many dismiss the old one as worthless! Â If I took an image with my Old RB67 or with my Contax G2 or if I had my old Blad 500CM's I would challenge anyone to prove that current day cameras take a better photo on a like for like basis. Â The improvements will be with the user interface and how it helps you take a better photo, not necessarily produce a higher quality photo unless you are blowing them up to street walk size posters. Â I chose the T because it was light, had a lovely interface and superb lenses, I no longer sell my work or need to earn money from photography, so I enjoy what I purchased as a hobby nothing more. Â If I was a professional then I am fairly sure that I would have been first in the queue for the new Hasselblad X1D or a Nikon D5 or 810, but I am not and so with my modest budget the T series in all it's reincarnations suits my needs, I'd like an M9 but with my eyesight I have recognised I need AF, I can't afford the SL and the Q with a fixed lens is of no use to me, so I am sold into the T until I recognise that there is something better that suits my needs. Â Â Interesting comment, I fully agree. The reason for which I'm interface and technical quality of the actual T are ok for my needs (and desires). But the lack of the possibility to deactivate exposure compensation (which was possible in the early version of firmware) makes it not interesting for me (no possible to use studio flashes) and it's what I hope to find implemented in the next T... Â You are absolutely correct in my view when you say a new camera will not necessary produce a higher quality photo. Â robert

robert That and you can't use the buffer at all in manual focus without being blinded by the image preview! If they fixed this issue and had the ability to turn off the exposure simulation then it would be a much more enjoyable camera to use.  Re not releasing a new one yet. As it was marked as discontinued on B&H a little while ago, I think the intention must have been to release at Photokina. However why announce there when your message will get drowned out by all the other announcements. That and they might have had some unforeseen delays. If they have a camera ready they won't let it sit on the shelf in the factory for too long.  My concern is that if they do release a new one, the current problems on the T will never be addressed...
