T and IPad w/o SIM

Hi!
So I bought a T (and I really like it). I cannot connect to the App with my Ipad (IOS 7.1.2) wihtout SIM, however.
I have a Samsung Galaxy setup as hotspot, as I do not have another WIFI access at the moment.
So:

Should I

a. connect directly via WIFI to the T network/Wifi, or 

b. go via the Samsung hot spot network?

Both did not work so far, but I would like to know which one is worth pursuing again. An IPhone is on the way, but using my Ipad in the meanwhile would be great (in the light of lacking Android support).

Hi Peter,

 

I connect my iPad (iPad Air) directly to the T's WiFi network. It works fine and a SIM card is not required in the iPad (my iPad Air does not even got a slot for a SIM card)

Thank you for the reply. I could not manage to make it work with the IPad (maybe due to the old IOS?), but it works with the IPhone.

If you just want the photos from an SD quickly there is this option: http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJYT2AM/A/lightning-to-sd-card-camera-reader

(for remote control apps you don't need a sim, just need to setup the network properly)

I am traveling in Spain and initially had trouble transferring pics to my iPad. Found out that if I took the case off the connection went seamlessly. I can't seem to find a way to choose more than 1 picture at a time. I transferred the pics from my Q ( with the case on) and was able to choose multiple pics with no problem.

Could not find how to do this with the T
