Leica 28 Summicron Lens shade 12466

The shade came with the typical silver/black leica box.

 

The mechanism and push tabs look identical.

 

Should I return it or is it likely that its real and just missed the etched leica?

 

Also, I am pretty sure that the hoods on thorstens site do not fit on the 28 cron or 35 lux v1.

All that matters is that you're satisfied. And it looks like you are so just enjoy it. Who knows, you may have a copy of something nobody knows about. It works both ways

 

Yes, the FLE vented hoods do not fit the older 28cron/35/1.4 ASPH.

 

The difference is that the 12466 has a button-push spring mechanism that releases teeth from the hood into the grooves on the lens.

 

The circular vented hood is a screw type that screws onto the threads on the 35FLE, exactly like the standard Leica rectangular hood does

Thanks. So it screws on external threads (28/2 v2, 35/1.4 FLE), not internal ones (28/2 v1, 35/1.4 asph), right?

Yes, this screws onto the 28/2v2 and the 35FLE.

It doesn't unfortunately fit on the 35mm Summilux Aspherical

Yes .. the 35AA is a beast of a totally different kind. I will try to get some Asian friends to attempt a circular vented hood for the 35AA.
