orc999 Posted September 3, 2016 Share #1 Posted September 3, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello my Leica produces constantly an error in studio shooting: unable to write to memory card. This also happens when the camera is connected to computer. Format does not help. Taking the battery off does help. I still did not find the option how to configure the memory card handling of slot 1 and 2. It happens on both slots. I have latest class 10/U3 memory both from sandisk and sony. Same problem. Besides tethering is a nightmare. I really love the results coming out of camera, but if it keeps behaving like this I can not use it for professional shootings. best regards

I have switched to using Lexar and have no problems, previously I had San Disk and sometimes I had a problem, but formatting a disk always fixed it. Unless your SL is faulty, which I hope is not the case naturally. You can only configure the slots so that slot 1 copies to slot 2, or that slot 2 fills up and SL starts recording to slot 2 as far as I know.
orc999 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted September 4, 2016 the error actualy only comes up when tethering...while also tethering stops in that moment without notice. Resulting in all images lost.
Ingo Posted September 4, 2016 Share #4 Posted September 4, 2016 You should contact Leica. BTW: Do you use the original Leica USB cable?
ramarren Posted September 4, 2016 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2016 I have been using Sandisk Extreme Pro 64G and then Lexar Professional 1000x II 128G cards in the SL since I acquired it in November 2015. Not one missed frame, or card read/write glitch, since in over 7000 exposures. I haven't done much tethered shooting so far, but tested a couple hundred frames for some tabletop work shortly after SL fw v1.2 and Leica Image Shuttle v3.4 became available. No problems in that test. (I haven't tried the Lightroom plug-in yet.)
