Hi. This is my first post on this forum. I think I have read all the posts on the Q and it seems like exactly what I am looking for in a small package. My only speculation is the 28mm. 35 is my favorite but I am hoping the 28 will work for me. I am really looking forward to getting it on Wednesday 8-31-16. I will be taking it with me to an event at my sons school along with my Canon. Anyway I am really excited about trying out this camera and I hope to get some great shots with it.

Hi dtusk.

I rented a Q about 2 months ago from lensrental to see if I really liked the image quality and the 28mm focal length. I have a few primes for my other system, but typically I'm a zoom shooter. Well, sorry to say, I absolutely fell in love with the Q. I was so sad to pack it up and send it back. It's an expensive purchase, but I finally gave in and bought one. It arrived last week with the newest firmware and I am extremely pleased with it. I usually buy/sell equipment often, but I'm thinking this will be a keeper! Good luck with your rental. I hope you enjoy the Q as much as I do.

Thank you for the info.  I usually shoot 35mm prime and 70-200 zoom with my canon but have been searching for a perfect small alternative for when I want to shoot 35 only and for traveling.  I rented the Leica X 113 a while back but me and the camera did not get along.  I really wanted to like that camera and thought maybe I did not rent it for long enough.  This camera seems to tick all my boxes and I am hoping the 28mm will work for what I want it to do.  I love the look of the pics I have seen with it.  Unfortunately non of my local camera shops carry Leica so I have to rent to even see them in person.  I was debating between this and the M 262 with a 35 Summarit and decided on this.  I will probably try the M at some point but at least having the auto focus option is nice.  As I get older I think I need auto focus lol.

dtusk,

I also had my worries whether an 28 mm lens would be my lens. Very quickly these thoughts disappeared and you will explore all the versatility of this lens plus the camera. The sensor, the handling and lens lens are a very fine tool and I am sure you won't miss a 35 mm lens. For street it is perfect because you can keep everybody attracted to the scene. It is fast, so timing is very comfortable.

It arrived late today.  Feels great in the hand and handles well for me.  Not having any difficulty finding my way around the operation of the camera.  No pics of any interest at this point.  The real test will come over the weekend.  Hope the weather is nice as the event I rented it for is outdoors.
