popum Posted June 11, 2007 Share #1  Posted June 11, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello  I recently downloaded a 30 day trial of the newest version of Lightzone. I had tried this program in the past but was unconvinced about its usefulness... it seemed a bit like a one trick pony. I must say that I'm finding this newest version to be a different animal (ugh), very comparable to Lightroom but with a few additional features (mainly the zone approach upon which most of the Lightzone marketing is based) and many that are missing. I do like the results I'm getting in playing with Lightzone.  I'm wondering how many of you use Lightzone and how it fits into your work flow?  Mike

Guest malland Posted June 11, 2007 Share #2  Posted June 11, 2007 I like Lightzone a lot because it allows you to work with certain tonal ranges without affecting other ones, unlike Photoshop curves; but I wish it had curves as wll. The other aspect that I like is that it's better than Photoshop for dodging and burning because of it's "regions" tools, which allows making and changing selections using vector shapes that aslo show feathering on the screen.  —Mitch/Bangkok
