war Posted August 10, 2016 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2016 Yes. This is where your great architectural images should be posted! That "reflections" shot in Landscape and Travel should be here too. This site needs some more good stuff. Have to Google this building, can't figure out if this is fritted glass or laser cut panels. Very interesting facade. Hardster Posted August 10, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted August 10, 2016 Thank you war. These are cut (laser?) panels that have been rusted to varying degrees and arranged in patterns. I am looking to capture this and other buildings with an, as yet, unpurchased PC/tilt-shift lens some time in the future to keep the verticals under control. What struck me was the way the afternoon light together with clouds affected the tonal range especially in B+W. I have been back numerous times and while watching the dynamic play by the light on the building also managed to take some shots. This building is part of a redevelopment of a hospital precinct that includes a children's hospital which I have yet to get my head around. It's architecture is very different and demands a good walk around at different times of day/weather to capture it's soul.
war Posted August 11, 2016 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2016 Yes, I Googled it, very interesting building and looks challenging to get good shots. Good luck with the PC lens it will be a new challenge. I use the PC Nikkors with my Nikkormats, quite primitive and a lot of work but I think worth it. I've tried using them with my Digilux 3 and can't get the manual focusing down. That's a whole other project in itself.
