Guest leicawanabe Posted June 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) After shooting with all different lenses. I have come to the conclusion that the 24 Elmarit Asph is probably the best lens for the M8. This lens is sharp and contrasty just making the images jump out at you. I shot this one today. Stupid me, I was framing with the external viewfinder thinking I had the 21 on instead of the 24. They look identical. Well, I soon learned after a few shots. More here ( Zenfolio | Jorge Torralba | Miscellaneous ) But look at these rich colors and sharpness.

arthury Posted June 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 9, 2007 So, do you mean the 24 or the 28?
Guest leicawanabe Posted June 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 9, 2007 Thanks for picking up on that. 24. Not the
johnbuckley Posted June 9, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 9, 2007 I love the 24 Elmarit. But here is a question: I am about to travel to Italy, and am planning on traveling pretty light: M8, MATE, 50 Summilux, and... can I just get away with the 24, or should I take the WATE? Nice pix, Jorge, by the way.
ChrisC Posted June 9, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 9, 2007 .... look at these rich colors and sharpness.... Are you suggesting that this lens specifically gives richer colours than your other lenses? ..............Chris
carstenw Posted June 9, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 9, 2007 John, if you are planning on taking any shots inside churches, which is a must, you will need the wate. The 32mm equivalent of the 24 is nowhere near enough. I would bring the latter for street shots though, unless you have one of the 28s.
